Optimised variation of CBD3.
TAT-CBD3A6K is an optimised variation of CBD3, the 15-amino acid peptide derived from the axonal collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP-2), which is a modulator of N-type voltage-gated calcium channels (CaV2.2), conjugated to the cell penetrating motif of the HIV transduction domain protein TAT. TAT-CBD3A6K binds with greater affinity to Ca2+ channels and is more stable and less prone to unfolding than the parent peptide. TAT-CBD3A6K is anti-nociceptive in a rodent model of AIDS therapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.
