Substrate for Akt.
Akt substrate peptide, also known as Akt/SKG substrate peptide, is a 7 amino acid synthetic peptide suitable as a substrate for Akt, also known as protein kinase B (PKB), the serine/threonine-specific protein kinase that plays a key role in multiple cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, apoptosis, cell proliferation, transcription, and cell migration. Unlike other substrates, Akt substrate peptide is not phosphorylated by p70 S6 kinase or MAP kinase activated protein (MAPKAP) kinase-1.
