Increases ?neural leptin responsiveness.
YHIEPV is a peptide derived from pepsin-pancreatin digestion of the green leaf protein rubisco, the storage protein which plays a key role in carbon dioxide fixation and photorespiration. YHIEPV corresponds to the rubisco large subunit (85-90) and exhibits anxiolytic like effects after oral administration, which are mediated through activation of the δ-opioid receptor. In vitro, YHIEPV increases leptin induced phosphorylation of STAT3 and mitigates palmitic acid induced decreases in leptin responsiveness, and in obese mice, YHIEPV promotes leptin induced reductions in body weight and food intake.
