Thrombin receptor agonist.
TRAP (Thrombin receptor agonist peptide) is a peptide that corresponds to the new N-terminal amino acid sequence of the tethered ligand generated after proteolytic cleavage at arginine-41 of the protease-activated receptor (PAR1) by thrombin. TRAP causes a strong activation response without the complications of fibrinogen cleavage and clot formation when added to platelets.
