Tat-?syn-degron is a blood-brain barrier and plasma membrane permeable ?-synuclein knockdown peptide which can reduce the level of
?-synuclein by proteasomal degradation. Tat-?syn-degron decreases ?-synuclein aggregates and microglial activation in an ?-synuclein preformed fibril model of spreading synucleinopathy in transgenic mice overexpressing human A53T ?-synuclein, and reduces ?-synuclein levels and significantly decreases the neuronal damage and motor impairment in a mouse toxicity model of Parkinsons disease.
