Recombinant human Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a 6.35 kDa globular protein containing 54 amino acid residues including 3 intramolecular disulfide-bonds. EGF is a potent growth factor, which stimulates the proliferation of various epidermal and epithelial cells. Additionally, EGF has been shown to inhibit gastric secretion, and to be involved in wound healing. EGF signals trough a receptor known as c-erbB, which is a class I tyrosine kinase receptor. This receptor also binds with TGF-alpha and VGF (vaccinia virus growth factor). Biological activities ascribed to EGF include epithelial development, angiogenesis, inhibition of gastric acid secretion, fibroblast proliferation and colony formation of epidermal cells in culture.
Bovine Insulin is a biologically active peptide hormone composed of two polypeptide chains (A and B) connected by disulfide bonds. It plays a central role in regulating glucose uptake, lipid metabolism and protein synthesis, while also stimulating cell proliferation and survival.
In cell culture applications, recombinant insulin is commonly used as a growth-promoting supplement in serum-free and chemically defined media, supporting robust cellular metabolism and viability.
Recombinant bovine insulin is produced through microbial fermentation in E. coli and purified to >90% purity. Supplied as a lyophilised powder, it offers excellent stability, bioactivity and reproducibility—making it a reliable and scalable choice for research, development and biomanufacturing use.
Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle (BME) containing four-fold concentrations of the amino acids and vitamins found in BME. The original formulation was used to culture embryonic mouse cells and has since been modified to support a variety of normal and transformed cells, such as primary cultures of mouse and chicken cells.
