Endogenous MRGPRX2 agonist.
PAMP 20 (human) is an endogenous peptide agonist of Mas related GPR X2 (MRGPRX2) with an EC50 of 251 nM. PAMP 20, or proadrenomedullin N-terminal 20 peptide, is liberated from proadrenomedullin by proteolytic cleavage and is a potent hypotensive and catecholamine release inhibitory peptide. PAMP 20 (human) displays potent antimicrobial activity against standard bacterial strains, with a mechanism of action not involving the microbial cell membrane but instead targeting binding to bacterial DNA.
