LL 37 (13-37) (human), also known as IG 27, is a peptide fragment composed of the C-terminal residues 13-37 of the antimicrobial peptide LL37 [AM-001]. LL37 (13-37) has been show to have antibacterial activity against E. coli, antifungal activity against C. albicans and antiviral activity, blocking the action of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. LL 37 (13-37) is also active against cancer cells, inhibiting the proliferation of drug-resistant and drug-sensitive carcinoma cells.
