Suitable for use in the enumeration of Lactobacilli from food materials. Also used for the cultivation of Aerococcus viridans, Bifidobacterium coryneforme, Lactococcus plantarum, Leuconostoc sp., Pectinatus cerevisiiphilus, Pediococcus sp. and Sporolactobacillus inulinus.

Microbiological Analysis:
Lactobacillus casei (ATCC 393): Poor to very good
Lactobacillus fermentum (ATCC 9338): Fair to very good
Lactobacillus plantarum (ATCC 8014): Poor to very good

Appearance:
Yellow-beige to tan, homogeneous, free flowing with soft lumps powder

Solubility:
Light to medium amber, trace to light haze
