Inhibits CXCL8-induced neutrophil transendothelial migration.
E70K, also known as peptide 2, is the C-terminal CXCL8 peptide fragment CXCL8 (54-72), with a glutamic acid (E) substituted at position 70 with lysine (K) to increase positive charge. Similarly to CXCL8 (54-72), E70K inhibits CXCL8-induced neutrophil transendothelial migration and provides a lead for further development of therapeutic inhibitors of neutrophil-mediated inflammation based on modulation of chemokine GAG binding.
