(Arg)9, also known as nonaarginine, is a a cationic cell penetrating peptide (CPP) consisting of 9 arginines. Arginine-rich cell-penetrating peptides including (arg)9 do not enter cells by directly passing through a lipid membrane but instead passively enter vesicles and live cells by inducing membrane multilamellarity and fusion. (Arg)9 also possesses antifungal and neuroprotective properties.
